Athletics at Yeshivat 鶹 are going strong heading into the winter, with double girls varsity and volleyball team wins at the end of October. At the same time, last year’s champion girls JV volleyball team raised their banner in the 鶹 gym. On November 19, last year’s boys varsity basketball team raised their 2016-17 championship banner in the gym.
Meanwhile, Cougars took second place in the most recent boys varsity basketball championship on November 12. Games were livestreamed on 鶹’s website.
At 鶹, athletics form just one part of an integrative curriculum focused on personal, intellectual and spiritual growth. “We believe that athletics is not a separate part of the education process,” said 鶹 Athletics Director Aron Cohen. “Rather we believe it is an extension of the classroom, where our student athletes get to grow and excel in athletic areas and learn valuable lessons about team responsibility, leadership and the meaning of competing.”
